Bangladesh won the first four matches of the five-match T20I series against Zim at home but faced a one-sided defeat in the final match of the series. In this match, the Bangladesh team, batting first, set a target of 157 runs in 20 overs for Zim, after which the Zim team achieved this target in just 18.3 overs with the loss of only two wickets.

When Zim was chasing 158 runs, it lost its first wicket for just 38 runs. After this, team captain Sikandar Raza not only took charge of his team but also along with Brain Bennett made a partnership of more than 50 runs for the second wicket and strengthened his team’s grip in the match.

In this match, Brian Bennett returned to the pavilion after playing a blistering innings of 70 runs facing 49 balls. The same Sikandar Raza stayed till the end for his team and played an unbeaten innings of 72 runs with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes in 46 balls and returned only after winning the match for his team. Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Saifuddin took one wicket each for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh team won the first four matches of this T20 series, but in this match, they lost by 8 wickets. Due to this questions have been raised on the team’s preparations for the T20 World Cup because Zim could not even qualify for the T20 World Cup. At the same time, the Bangladesh team is part of Group D in the T20 World Cup 2024, in which it has to play its first match against the Sri Lankan team on 8 June.
