President Tharman said he had full confidence in Wong’s leadership abilities as Singapore entered uncharted territory internationally, and that he had played a key role in shaping the country’s economic and social policies.

Economist Lawrence Wong has been sworn in as the fourth Prime Minister of Singapore. Let us tell you that Wong is 51 years old and he is going to replace 72-year-old Hsien Loong. Wong took his oath under President Tharman. Lee Hsien Loong was the Prime Minister of Singapore for almost two decades. Both leaders Wong and Lee Hsien Loong are members of the ruling People’s Action Party, which has been leading Singapore for the last 5 decades.

According to Asia News Channel, Wong was nominated in April 2022 and promoted to Deputy Prime Minister in June of the same year.
