DEO Shakeel :
The Mini Secretariat, Bandipora’s Election Strong Room, Control Room, MCMC, and Postal Voting Counters were all thoroughly inspected by District Election Officer (DEO) Shakeel ul Rehman on May 4.
In this instance, 319 voters in the Bandipora district—203 senior citizens and 116 people with disabilities—opted to cast their ballots at home, according to information provided to the meeting by Mehraj Wani, the Nodal Officer for Postal Ballots.
The DEO explored the setup at the Strong Room and Postal Voting Counter and performed a direct assessment of the election control room and MCMC operations with the assistance of Vice DEO Mohammad Rafiq Bhat and ACD Mumtaz Ahmad Peer.
During the time of MCMC visit, the DEO stressed the importance of closely monitoring the posts regarding the elections on all platforms including print, electronic and social media.
He also inspected the EVM and material Strong Room set up at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora, where electronic voting machines (EVMs) and other election materials are securely stored.
Furthermore, he inspected the preparations and arrangements at the Postal Voting Counter established at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora.
He gave the concerned officials instructions to make sure that every eligible voter can cast a ballot in a secure and hassle-free manner and that the postal voting process runs smoothly and transparently.
