Who is Vicky pahade ?
Corporal Vicky Pahade, who was killed in a terror attack in Poonch region of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, was supposed to return home to celebrate his son’s birthday on Tuesday. The soldier was from Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district and He was a resident of Nonia-Karbal village. Vicky Pahade had visited his family last month to attend his sister’s wedding and had joined the unit on April 18.
Poonch IAF Convoy Attack:
Security personnel conducted a search operation today morning (May 5) in response to a terrorist attack on an Indian Air Force (IAF) convoy, officials told ANI. The attack in Poonch on May 4 resulted in the loss of one personnel’s life.
The officials said a well-coordinated joint operation by the Army and the police was underway in many areas, including Shahsitar, Gursai, Sanai and Sheendara Top, to neutralise the terrorists.
He said that it is believed that the attackers fled into the forest after the attack.
Besides AK assault rifles, the terrorists also used a US-made M4 carbine and steel bullets to cause maximum casualties, the officials added.
Indian Army Reinforcements Arrive
Additional Indian Army forces arrived at Jarra Wali Gali (JWG) in Poonch late on Saturday night in response to the incident.
The attack, which occurred in Sanai village, led to the injury of personnel who were swiftly transported to the Command Hospital in Udhampur. Unfortunately, one of the injured personnel succumbed to his injuries.
Corporal pahade family :
Corporal Pahde (33) had joined the Indian Air Force (IAF) in 2011. His family consists of his five-year-old son, wife, mother and three sisters. The Indian Air Force’s official X handle stated: “The CAS Air Chief Marshal V. R. Chaudhari and all personnel of the Air Force salute the braveheart Corporal Vikky Pahade, who made the supreme sacrifice in Poonch Sector, in the service of the nation. Our deepest condolences to his family. We stand firmly by your side in this hour of grief.”
Second attack on security forces in Poonch this year
The attack on the IAF convoy on Saturday is the second such attack on security forces in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier in January this year, an Army convoy came under heavy firing from suspected militants, prompting the forces to begin a search operation.
“At around 1800h today, a Security Forces convoy of vehicles was fired upon by suspected terrorists from a jungle near Krishna Ghati, Poonch sector—no casualties to own troops. Joint search operations by the Indian Army and JKP (Jammu and Kashmir Police) are in progress,” the White Night Corps of the Army posted on X.
