Delhi Capitals Seek Vital Victory in Playoff Bid
Delhi Capitals are going to face Royal Challengers Bangalore in an important match today at 7:30 PM. Rishabh Pant will not be able to play today’s evening match due to the ban by BCCI for slow over-rate. Despite the efforts of former Indian players Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting, the DC management kept rejecting the appeal.
Today at 7:30 pm, the DC team is going to play against Royal Challenger Bangalore and this is a very important match from the point of view of the DC team. Delhi needs to win this match. If Delhi faces defeat in this match, then the DC team may also be out of the playoff race. DC team may miss Rishabh Pant in this match The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has imposed a one-match ban on Delhi captain Rishabh Pant due to his aggression in the match against Rajasthan Royals. Due to this, Rishabh Pant will not be able to play today’s match.
Because if Delhi wins this match against RCB, then it can leave Chennai Super Kings behind and enter the top 4 in the tournament for the first time.
Meanwhile, the Delhi management, which includes cricketing legends like Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting, tried their best to overturn Pant’s suspension but failed.
Sourav Ganguly commented on the matter and said that the Rajasthan batsman had hit 13 sixes during the last match. However, the team was given extra time to retrieve the ball on only three occasions instead of six each. Former India captain Sourav Ganguly also claimed that the 3 minutes given to review Sanju Samson’s dismissal was too short, especially since Samson protested and it took much longer than the 3 minutes.
DC team’s plea was rejected
BCCI rejected the argument of DC. Regarding the time taken to retrieve the balls, BCCI CEO Hemang Amin said that Even though Delhi Capitals batsmen hit 12 sixes while batting, Rajasthan Royals still maintained their over rate.
He also said that Rishabh Pant has not submitted any written arguments yet, The BCCI also said in its statement that DC were completely unable to see that the extra time given by the umpire was not sufficient for them.
